Making History
Harmony Missionary Baptist Church of Christ was constituted on a warm July evening in 1891 by nineteen rugged West Texans. The tiny wood-frame church that was eventually built, was home to the congregation for a number of years, until it was destroyed by fire in the early 1900’s.
Through the years the church has undergone a name change to Caps Baptist Church, and has grown through several buildings and locations, until – in 1958, the current facility was constructed. In 1981, a full-size gymnasium and additional classrooms were added. Now, the Abilene community is growing around Caps Baptist, and the church is again expanding, embracing new programs and goals.
We have an exciting vision for the Lord’s Kingdom and our future – at CBC! Be part of it! It’s a growing experience. |
